Kim,
Yes, I'm one and the same person! First Dawn was an early piece of mine and was one of my first "successes". I remember my first sale of it at Troy's Gallery (a million years ago)......I was so ecstatic, I leapt off the stairs into the street, whooping for joy. I stopped sculpting back in 1990 (have made a lot of music instead), but am back at it again, having just gotten myself a cool studio to work in.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm truly glad it has brought you joy. I had a great time creating the piece.

Take care,
Deb

I'm wondering if you are also a sculptor who may have created a beautiful mare and new born colt small bronze sculpture entitled “First Dawn”. The signature on the back of the rising sun is not clear. Best I can make out, it has a D which is entwined with the G of Gassner. I purchased it in Scottsdale, Arizona back in 1976. It was probably cast in 1975 and is 3/10. If you are, I’d like to say that this little piece has brought me a lot of joy through the years. It touched my heart before I became enamored with horses, and was almost prophetic. I'll have to check out your music as well!

All the best,
Kim Lindsey

Please come back to "The Mothership"! Oregon misses you! Jewel taught me "River Of Birds" last year, and I've been playing it for my friends telling them what you told us when you played it with Jewel during the first performance at their new place. You really have to record that one - I would love to be able to hear you play it again!!! ( and so would everyone I've ever described it to) Thanks so much for your new CD - it was definitely worth the wait!
Yours truly,
Lynne

Way to go, Don & Deb! Congratulations on getting this thing out. I teach on Thursday nights so unless I bring my class with me, I can't make it to your launch party. Hmmm. Bring my class with me... That's the best idea I've had all month! Perhaps I'll see you there, and get a few new fans on board.
