“The Wheel Is Round” at the Coconino Center for the Arts

Posted by: Deb // Category: music video // 8:40 pm

January 2008 we performed in Flagstaff at the Coconino Center for the Arts, one of our favorite venues in Arizona. This song favors infinity over the Big Bang, the beauty of language over the tyranny of dogma, and the romantic possibility that there might be some meaning to it all. Thanks to Fred Coon for the video, thanks to Ron Nieman for the line “infinity is greater than zero”. It is y’know.

“Hoo-Li” performed at house concert

Cyd West occasionally presumes upon her husband, trompe l’oeil artist Greg West, to allow her musician friends the use of his backyard Phoenix studio as a venue and this was one such night in January 2007. The song is a ‘walkin’ song that celebrates those moments when every little thing is just right. Thanks to Cheryl Colan for capturing this piece, that’s her singing along.

The Thursday night Arizona Showcase at the Far-West Conference in Mesa, AZ, October 2008 featuring a new version of “Row” with the harp instead of the concertina. This was the end of an evening that showcased some of the best of Arizona artists. A big thank you to Kyle Harris of PlayR Recording who provided the sound that night in an impossible room.
